As a professional pet and animal photographer I pride myself on being able to relax my furry subjects, whoever they are. You can tell I was taking too long over getting this shot, because my efforts provoked a very big yawn from this lovable Collie. Capturing your pets’ personalities and quirks is really important, as evidenced by the smiles and laughter that characterful images such as this bring forth from their owners.

Dog photography is of course a big part of what I do. I promise we’ll do our best to keep your furry companions loved and entertained throughout their pet photography session. Photographing dogs can be extremely rewarding, and I always leave canine shoots feeling that I’ve made a new friend. in fact it’s not uncommon for me to wish I could take my work home with me! I put in very long hours in my role as a professional photographer, which means I can’t keep pets of my own, so by photographing other people’s pets I get my regular fix of animal therapy.

This Collie was young and incredibly playful. In fact he had us in fits at times. We have to accept the need to give up virtually any form of control when we have such lively subjects. Often the best course of action is to simply wait and be ready to catch an interesting or cute moment.
